what i loved this week(1)
and even more random bits no one asked for
French Plum jam from Ayako and Family
I finally made it up to Ballard last weekend and was recommended the French Plum jam to try from a wide variety of jams made with both plums and other fruits like rhubarb or raspberries! Me being me, I asked no questions and bought the jam.
I spooned a dollop into my Fage(PLAIN) and immediately had to check the ingredients list. The jam tasted exactly like fig and honey but with none of the thick will-stick-in-your-throatness of fig jam. There was neither fig nor honey in the jam, just french plum and sugar.
On the side of the jar, it showed that the flavor profile of a french plum was mission fig and honey. It’s so cool that the fruit itself has such a distinct identity separate from the standard plum flavor, and I’ll be trying another variety as soon as I make more progress on this jar! vv yum.
Strawb ‘barb pie from Pie Bird Bakeshop
It’s actually just called strawberry rhubarb pie, sorry about that. This was an impulse eat but the filling had a great balance of tart and sweet, though I wish there was more whole chunks of both strawberry and rhubarb. I know rhubarb especially falls apart into mush really quickly into the cooking process, but maybe if I want rhubarb chunks I should get a galette.
Actual bowl of matcha
Creamy. I just wish it could have been kept warm for longer. Things get cold so fast when you’re slow.
Ranunculi and poppies, 2/3 of my favorite flowers!

The peak of hot-girl/health-nut-ification capitalism
Yes, I read all the pieces about the commodification of wellness and criticisms of nutrition pseudo-science and completely agree, but I was still tempted to get this “glow flavor” kombucha with biotin that was apparently going to solve the 20 years of physical insecurities I have in my full five feet of self.
My mum being cute

some of these are kinda scary
My mother recently went on a much-deserved trip to Europe with her best friend, and all throughout, sent me pictures of frog motifs whenever she saw them because she knows I love frogs(!!!).
I thought it was so cute that she thinks of me and lets me know this way.
Context: About a year ago, I started taking pictures of frog-themed things I saw in the wild because there are unexpectedly many of those?
Phở Gà Trộn with my team
Good company, good food. Happy.
“Thinking out of the box”
While brainstorming ideas for a project, I had a spark of brilliance and, in my excitement, went to stand on the bed to announce it. I forgot I lived in a basement(no, not my parents’—wait, is this worse??) and absolutely smashed my cranium into the linoleum ceiling. I guess I thought too far out of the box. Never getting those braincells back, but it was a good idea.
Frankie and Jo’s
Finally rolled around to try this vegan ice cream chain, and it did NOT disappoint. My commentary can be found in the caption here. Mmm. So creamy. So summery.
Lana song of the week: Love song
Have I ever said Norman Fucking Rockwell was my favorite Lana album? I like it even more than Born to Die or Lust for Life.
Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay
I brought the remains of a 30ml bottle I had back at home here with me, and it’s still so good. My taste was impeccable even 4 years ago :^)
